Motorola’s Leaked Razr Flex Is a Wide Foldable That Actually Fits in a Pocket
A leak says Motorola's first wide book-style foldable, the Razr Flex, lands in mid-December with a 6.92-inch inner screen and a 5,000mAh battery.

Samsung made the wide foldable mainstream with the Galaxy Z Fold 8. Motorola’s answer, if a new leak is right, goes the other way: smaller screens, a smaller footprint, and a bigger battery.
Android Headlines published detailed specs for a Motorola book-style foldable codenamed Parker, which may be sold as the Razr Flex. 9to5Google, Android Central and Notebookcheck have all picked up the report. Nothing here is confirmed by Motorola, and the name itself is uncertain. But the spec sheet is specific enough to take seriously.
The leaked Razr Flex specs
- Inner display: 6.92-inch OLED, 2364 x 1728, up to 165Hz, with HDR10, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support
- Cover display: 4.97-inch, 1736 x 1140
- Chip: Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of non-expandable storage
- Battery: 5,000mAh dual-cell with 25W Qi2 wireless charging
- Cameras: 50MP main (with up to 30x digital zoom) and 50MP ultrawide on the back, 32MP selfie cameras
- Size: 110 x 149 x 5.8mm open, 110 x 76 x 12.6mm closed
- Weight: 215 grams
- Extras: IP48/IP49 rating, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, physical SIM slot
- Colors: Pantone Coriander and Pantone Dark Botanical Garden
The expected launch window is mid-December, according to the leak.
Smaller than a Fold 8, on purpose
The most interesting number is the 4.97-inch cover screen. That is small for a 2026 book-style foldable, and it shrinks the whole phone. Notebookcheck lined the leak up against Samsung’s current foldable:
| Spec | Motorola Razr Flex (leaked) | Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 |
|---|---|---|
| Cover display | 4.97 in | 5.5 in |
| Inner display | 6.92 in | 7.6 in |
| Weight | 215 g | 201 g |
| Battery | 5,000 mAh | Smaller, per Notebookcheck |
So Motorola would trade roughly half an inch of screen on each side for more battery, while ending up slightly heavier and, per Android Central, thicker when folded. That is a real trade-off, not a free win. But a 6.92-inch inner display is still bigger than most slab phones, and a narrow, short device that opens into a small tablet is a genuinely different pitch from Samsung’s “widest possible” approach.
The chip is the question mark
Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 is not Qualcomm’s top chip. It sits a step below the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 that powers most of this year’s flagships. On a phone this expensive to build, that choice will likely keep the price in check, and in daily use it should be plenty fast. Gamers and heavy multitaskers may feel the gap, especially on a 165Hz inner screen.
The 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, with no microSD slot, also read like a single mid-tier configuration. If Motorola sells only that version in the U.S., power users who shoot a lot of video will fill it quickly.
What it could mean for U.S. buyers
Motorola already sells the Razr Fold in the U.S., and its flip phones are carrier staples. A compact wide foldable from the same brand would give Android buyers a third shape to consider alongside Samsung’s big Fold and the flip phones. No price leaked, and that will decide everything. If Motorola lands this well under Samsung’s foldable pricing, the Razr Flex could be the foldable for people who found the Fold 8 simply too big.
Our take: a pocketable wide foldable with a 5,000mAh battery is exactly the device the category has been missing. Wait for the price, and for Motorola to confirm any of it, before you get attached.
