Welcome to Android Captain. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of androidcaptain.com, including its articles, Web Stories and newsletter (together, the “Site”). The Site is published for readers in the United States. By using the Site, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

Who can use the Site

The Site is intended for a general audience. You must be at least 13 years old to comment, subscribe to the newsletter or contact us, consistent with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you are under 18, please use the Site with the permission of a parent or guardian.

Our content

Unless otherwise noted, the articles, headlines, Web Stories, graphics, logos and design of the Site are owned by Android Captain or used with permission, and are protected by U.S. copyright and trademark laws and international treaties. Photos credited to Unsplash, Pexels or other sources belong to their creators and are used under those services’ licenses.

You may read, print and share our content for personal, non-commercial use. You may quote brief excerpts, consistent with fair use, if you credit Android Captain and link to the original article. You may not:

republish, sell or distribute full articles or Web Stories without our written permission
copy our content in bulk or scrape the Site with bots, crawlers or other automated tools for commercial purposes, including to train commercial AI models
remove copyright notices or present our work as your own

Comments and submissions

You keep ownership of the comments and messages you send us. By posting or sending them, you give Android Captain a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display, edit for length or clarity, and publish that content on the Site and related channels.

Please keep comments on topic and respectful. You agree not to post content that:

is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, harassing, hateful or threatening
infringes anyone’s copyright, trademark, privacy or publicity rights
contains spam, advertising, malware, phishing or deceptive links
impersonates another person or misrepresents your affiliation with anyone
shares another person’s personal information without consent

We may moderate, edit, refuse or remove any comment at our discretion, and we may block users who repeatedly break these rules. Comments reflect the views of their authors, not Android Captain.

Acceptable use

You agree not to interfere with the Site’s security or operation, probe or attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of it, overload it with automated requests, or use it for any unlawful purpose or in violation of U.S. law.

Trademarks and independence

Android, Google, Pixel, Gemini, Wear OS and Google TV are trademarks of Google LLC. Samsung, Galaxy and other product and company names mentioned on the Site are trademarks of their respective owners. Android Captain is an independent publication and is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Google or any other manufacturer unless we explicitly say so.

Third-party links and services

The Site links to websites, retailers and services we do not control. We are not responsible for their content, products, prices, availability or privacy practices, and a link is not an endorsement. Your use of third-party sites is at your own risk and subject to their terms.

If you subscribe to our newsletter, you agree to receive periodic emails from us. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, and we honor requests within 10 business days as required by the CAN-SPAM Act.

Copyright complaints (DMCA)

We respect intellectual property rights and respond to notices of alleged infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512). If you believe content on the Site infringes your copyright, send a notice through our Contact Us page with the subject “DMCA Notice” that includes:

identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed
the URL of the material on our Site that you claim is infringing
your name, mailing address, telephone number and email address
a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law
a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner’s behalf
your physical or electronic signature

If we remove material in response to a notice, the person who posted it may send a counter-notice as described in 17 U.S.C. § 512(g). Knowingly false notices or counter-notices may result in liability for damages. We may remove content and block repeat infringers.

THE SITE AND ITS CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF ACCURACY, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ANDROID CAPTAIN AND ITS AUTHORS AND EDITORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, DEVICE DAMAGE, PROFITS OR REVENUE, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SITE OR RELIANCE ON ITS CONTENT, INCLUDING FOLLOWING ANY HOW-TO GUIDE. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of these limitations may not apply to you; in that case, our liability is limited to the smallest amount permitted by law.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Android Captain and its authors and editors from any claims, damages, losses or expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising from content you submit or your violation of these Terms.

Resolving disputes

Most concerns can be settled quickly and informally. Before filing any claim, you agree to contact us through our Contact Us page, describe the issue, and give us 30 days to try to resolve it.

Access from outside the United States

The Site is operated for a U.S. audience, and its content, prices and product availability are generally U.S.-specific. If you access the Site from another country, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for complying with your local laws.

Changes to the Site and these Terms

We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Site at any time. We may also update these Terms; when we do, we will change the effective date above. Continuing to use the Site after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

General

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in full effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Disclaimer, are the entire agreement between you and Android Captain about the Site.
