Samsung’s Certified Re-Newed Galaxy Phones Are on Amazon From $489. Only a Few Are Real Bargains
Samsung Certified Re-Newed Galaxy S24 and S25 phones are now on Amazon from $489, with new batteries. Here's which ones are worth it.

Samsung’s own refurbished phones just showed up somewhere far more people shop. The company has opened a Certified Re-Newed storefront on Amazon in the U.S., selling factory-refurbished Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S25 phones starting at $489.
These aren’t third-party flips with a mystery battery. Samsung says each phone is torn down and rebuilt by its own technicians with genuine Samsung parts, gets a brand-new battery and passes a 147-point inspection. Every unit carries a one-year warranty and can be covered by Samsung Care+.
That’s a meaningfully better deal than the average “renewed” listing on Amazon. The question is whether the prices are low enough to beat what you can already get on a new phone.
Every Galaxy phone and price on the list
Samsung launched with 14 configurations across seven models, in limited colors: Graphite, Onyx Black, Silver Shadow and Titanium Black. Here are the starting prices next to what each phone cost at launch.
| Model | Storage | Re-Newed price | Launch price | You save |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Galaxy S24 FE | 128GB | $489 | $649.99 | ~$161 |
| Galaxy S24 | 128GB | $519 | $799.99 | ~$281 |
| Galaxy S24+ | 256GB | $649 | $999.99 | ~$351 |
| Galaxy S24 Ultra | 256GB | $849 | $1,299.99 | ~$451 |
| Galaxy S25 | 128GB | $599 | $799.99 | ~$201 |
| Galaxy S25+ | 256GB | $749 | $999.99 | ~$251 |
| Galaxy S25 Ultra | 256GB | $979 | $1,299.99 | ~$321 |
Higher storage tiers cost more: the 256GB Galaxy S24 FE and Galaxy S24 are $519 and $549, the 512GB Galaxy S24+ is $699, the 512GB Galaxy S24 Ultra is $899, the 256GB Galaxy S25 is $629, the 512GB Galaxy S25+ is $799 and the 512GB Galaxy S25 Ultra is $1,029.
The newer Galaxy S26 family joined Samsung’s Certified Re-Newed program last month, but those phones are still sold only on Samsung.com. Refurbished foldables aren’t on Amazon yet either.
What you get with a Re-Newed Galaxy
The biggest selling point is the battery. A used phone’s battery is the part most likely to disappoint you, and Samsung replaces it outright. Beyond that, you get:
- Genuine parts: worn components are swapped for factory Samsung parts.
- A 147-point inspection before the phone ships.
- A one-year limited warranty, the same as a new phone.
- Samsung Care+ eligibility if you want accident protection.
- Long software support: Samsung promises seven years of Android updates for its recent flagships, including the S24 and S25 series.
Android Authority notes these are the same phones, repair process and warranty Samsung already offers on its own site. Amazon simply puts them in front of a much bigger audience, with Amazon’s checkout and shipping.
Which ones are actually worth buying
Not every price here is a bargain. Refurbished pricing only makes sense if it’s clearly below what a new phone costs on sale, and Galaxy flagships get discounted constantly.
The best value: Galaxy S25 at $599
This is the one we’d buy. It’s last year’s flagship, with a fresh battery and seven years of promised updates, for $200 less than its launch price. For anyone who wants a compact, current Samsung without paying full price, it’s the sweet spot of the lineup.
Worth a look: Galaxy S24 Ultra at $849
The S24 Ultra saves you the most in dollars, about $451 off its launch price, and you still get the S Pen and a big zoom camera. It also picked up some features from the Galaxy Z Fold 8 in a September update. If you want an Ultra and don’t care about having the newest one, this is the smart pick.
Think twice: Galaxy S24 FE and Galaxy S25 Ultra
At $489, the S24 FE saves the least of any model, and that’s not a lot of savings for a phone that started as Samsung’s budget flagship. For comparison, Google sells certified refurbished Pixel 9 phones from $499. The Galaxy S25 Ultra at $979 is the other odd one. New Galaxy S26 Ultra deals have been landing hundreds of dollars off this month, so check current sale prices on the newer model before you spend nearly $1,000 on a refurbished one.
How to shop the Re-Newed store on Amazon
- Look for listings labeled Samsung Certified Re-Newed, not generic “Renewed” listings from third-party sellers. Only Samsung’s own units come with the new battery and Samsung warranty.
- Pick your storage carefully. You can’t add more later, and the jump from 128GB to 256GB is only $30 on most models.
- Compare the price with the same phone new. Holiday sales are coming, and new S24 and S25 stock may drop close to these prices.
- Decide on Samsung Care+ at checkout if you want accidental damage coverage on top of the warranty.
Samsung moving its refurbished phones onto Amazon is a smart play. It gives buyers a trustworthy alternative to the gamble of used listings, and it lets Samsung capture shoppers who’d otherwise grab a cheaper rival phone. Just do the math before you click “Buy Now.” A good refurbished deal is one that beats a sale, not one that beats the original sticker price.
