How to copy apps, photos, texts and chats to a new Android phone by cable, Wi-Fi, Smart Switch or Google backup.
Charge both phones, turn on Backup by Google One, back up WhatsApp and check your authenticator app before you start.
On Android 10 or later, tap Copy during setup. A cable is Google's recommended route, but Wi-Fi works too.
Use Samsung Smart Switch: Receive data on the new phone, Send data on the old one, then go wireless or use a cable.
If backups were on, restore from Google during setup. Backups may be deleted if a device goes unused for 57 days.
Downloads, ringtones and non-Play apps won't copy. Keep the old phone a week and test your logins before you reset it.
