A Korean report says Samsung will cut Galaxy phone production 20-30% this quarter as memory costs erase profits.
Korean outlet Money Today reports Samsung told suppliers to cut smartphone production by 20 to 30 percent through Q4 2026.
TrendForce put a 12GB phone memory package at about $145 in Q2 2026, up 175 percent from a year earlier.
An unnamed source says Galaxy phones make little to no profit once rising memory costs are counted. Samsung has not confirmed the cut.
Samsung was expected to build up to 270 million phones in 2026. With the cuts, output could fall to about 200 million.
