Google's Quick Share SDK brings fast, encrypted file sharing into Android and iPhone apps in 2027.
Google announced a Quick Share SDK at Android Dev Summit 2026. Apps can build Quick Share file transfers right into their own screens.
There is one SDK for Android apps and a separate one for iOS. Developers can start testing early next year.
Transfers are end-to-end encrypted, skip compression and work offline using Wi-Fi Direct and hotspots.
The code runs inside each app, so you won't need Android 17 or iOS 27. Google targets the first half of 2027.
It's Google's smartest Quick Share move yet. But no launch apps are named, and adoption will decide if it matters.
