Google Translate's Android redesign brings a four-tab dock and a bigger text box. Here's what moved.
The Google Translate redesign first tested in July is now rolling out on Android, starting with app version 10.39.34.99.
The uneven button row is gone. A pill-shaped dock now holds Text, Live, Camera and Practice, much like Google Photos and Lens.
A large Translate anything card puts Paste on the left and Handwriting next to the mic. The three-dot menu has been removed.
The bigger text card pushes practice shortcuts like Today's Spanish Practice off the main screen. Live, Camera and Practice work as before.
Update Translate from the Play Store, then wait. Google is switching the new design on server-side in phases over the coming weeks.
