Android 18 shows up in Google's Dev Summit agenda with a graphics tease.
Google used the name Android 18 publicly for the first time, buried in the Android Dev Summit agenda.
It reads: Elevate your apps with the latest graphics features in Jetpack Compose and Android 18.
The tease promises mesh gradients and progressive blurs, without hurting battery life or frame rates.
Dev Summit returns to Google's Bay View campus in Mountain View, the first since 2022. The keynote streams publicly.
Google has not given Android 18 a preview schedule or a release window. For now, gradients are all we have.
