Google is appealing EU orders to open Android's Gemini-only features to rival AI assistants.
On Sept. 29, Google appealed two EU Digital Markets Act decisions at the General Court in Luxembourg.
Rival assistants must get voice activation and the ability to handle tasks in other apps, just like Gemini.
Google must also share anonymized search data with rival search engines starting in January 2027.
Google says the orders put user privacy and device security at risk, and that Android is already open.
The rules only apply in the EU, but the system-level plumbing Google builds there could matter everywhere.
