Gmail on Android now lets you copy verification codes with one tap, right from your inbox.
Gmail on Android now shows a Copy code button for verification emails, so you can grab codes without selecting text.
A pill-shaped button appears under the subject line, in the inbox or inside the email. Tap it, then paste the code.
It is rolling out in Gmail for Android 2026.09.07.x and iOS 6.0.260907. The web version does not have it yet.
It does not feed codes to Gboard like Google Messages does, and there is no Copy code action in notifications yet.
Email codes are only as secure as your inbox. Turn on strong two-step verification for Google and use passkeys where you can.
