Starting October 9, Google is changing which Gemini models each plan can use in the Gemini app.
Free accounts lose Gemini 3.6 Flash and 3.1 Pro, keeping only the lighter Flash-Lite model.
The $4.99 AI Plus plan keeps Flash but drops 3.1 Pro, the model Google says excels at math and coding.
The $19.99 AI Pro plan gains Deep Think, previously limited to Ultra. Every model also gets low, medium and high effort levels.
Try your usual prompts on Flash-Lite first. If you relied on Pro, AI Pro is now the plan that fits.
