The 4K Chromecast with Google TV jumps to the August 2026 security patch after 11 months without an update.
Google is rolling out firmware UTTA.260813.002 to the Chromecast with Google TV (4K), its first update of 2026.
The security patch moves from October 2025 to August 2026. Beyond that, Google lists only bug fixes and performance improvements.
The Chromecast with Google TV (HD) remains on October 2025 patches. Google has not confirmed when it will follow.
Go to Settings, System, About, then System update. Look for build UTTA.260813.002 after the reboot.
Good news for owners, but Google has set no end-of-support date and its focus has moved to the Google TV Streamer.
